Community

The ArtisTTable is indeed a 'Community' of artists and art lovers. We have designed it such that you can remain in the online place that you feel most comfortable with. Many prefer LinkedIN or Twitter and our Google+ group, although most everyone seems to be finding us on Facebook. There are also many other places through out the internet that we have set up accounts and will be places that you can check in and see what is happening at the TTable.

Today we updated our Community page on the website. It has the links on that page where the ArtisTTable can be found. Several of those links will not have a lot going on with them until after our first opening on February 28. After that we will put images from the exhibition in those places.

You can see our Community page by clicking on this link, www.ArtisTTableOnline.com/community

Thanks for being a part, and if you haven't already, please go to our Facebook page and Like us. http://on.fb.me/XCapNS

Jackson Pollack Weekend.

Hey everybody.

Well another week has come and nearly went. We were waiting to see just what would shake down with today before we posted anything. The ArtisTTable moved along as expected, we have made a few new friends in distant lands such as Spain and Colombia.

Other than that Tali and I had a great Google Hangout with old friend and long time collaborator Benno Hübner. We are working on developing a new multi-media project that involves, painting, music, and dance. We had some interesting developments today for sure. Stay tuned and one day you may see a sample of some of the things we are working on.

We have had a little fun recently celebrating some of our favorite famous artists lately. We started with Paul Cézanne, and this week we did Édouard Manet, since tomorrow, January 26 is the birthday of Jackson Pollack we are going to be celebrating all weekend.

Online we celebrate about the only way we can. We post things. Please pick out your favorite Jackson Pollack painting and post it to our Facebook page at http://on.fb.me/XCapNS

We love art and we love artists that have influenced us so much.

Have a great weekend, and make some wonderful art.

#TTstudiopix Project

Do you ever have one of those days when you thought for the better part of the day that it was really the day before. Like today I spend all morning and maybe an hour past noon, before Tali set me straight that it was Thursday.

Really? I said. It isn't Wednesday? Oh my...

Today was a bit different than what I like to consider normal... (Note: Normal for the ArtisTTable may not relate to anything that anyone else might consider normal). But after muddling through several semi-related tasks, I said down at this computer again, and I was still having a hard time convincing myself it was Thursday.

Well all this is neither here nor there because the calendar does not lie.

We are in an interesting place here at the TTable. We have our selves organized and ready for our first exhibition. We are just having to seemingly sit around and wait for our February 14th deadline to come around. But that is not our reality. We have lots of things to do. Some of them are very mundane, and some of them are a lot more fun.

Today we launched a fun one. We started a project we call #TTstudiopix. We announced that all the artists should post photos of their studio on either Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #TTstudiopix.

Artist's studios are special places. Some are big and some are small, some are tidy and others are a mess. Either way we love to see them because they are where the magic happens. The creative process is a marvelous thing so to get a little glimpse of that is a real treat.

So, snap a photo or two of where you work and post it to Instagram or Twitter. #TTstudiopix

Until nexTTime.

Getting the Word Out

The biggest task at hand here at the ArtisTTable is simply getting the word out about this first exhibition. The Call for Entries is out now for a full week now for the show Lets Get Acquainted!

The response has been good. But like we have been saying in moments like this, the more, the merrier.  There are several reasons it is a good thing to have lots of submissions to a show like this.  First the purpose of such an exhibition is to showcase a wide variety of styles and techniques. Secondly, the conversation only gets bigger and better when there is more to talk about and compare. Thirdly, we all love the idea of winning the prize, especially when it has some cash attached to it.

While we have built into our plan from the beginning that we would always have cash prizes whenever we had a competition, we really are just two artists self-funding this endeavor. We are not complaining, not at all, we would love to be able to give large sums of money as prizes, and we will always do that, but they prizes are really effected by the number of submissions.

So yeah, when we say, the more, the merrier, that is what we mean.

That said, in the spirit of getting the word out, today we produced a little down and dirty tutorial about How to Submit to an ArtisTTable Exhibition. We never did this before, so it might be a little rough, but it was still fun. So there should be no more concerns or questions about submitting, but if there are, you know you can always write to us. info@ArtisTTableOnline.com

Free Advertising

Sitting here with about  4 hours left on a little promotion we instituted about 3 hours ago... We were sitting at 170 Likes on our Facebook page, we didn't think that was too bad for just putting on a push for one day. We went from our own two likes to 170 in less than 24 hours... Not bad for two painters. We thought wouldn't it be nice if we had a nice round 200 Likes to start the day of with tomorrow...

Enter the contest.

We said if we get our 200 Likes which meant that we only needed 30 of them by midnight tonight. We would do a random drawing from those that made comments on our page since the start of the contest at 4:30pm. The name that got chosen at random would win free ad space on our website www.ArtisTTableOnline.com for one month.

Pretty cool huh?

Well,  I have to say given the progress before my dinner break I was not so sure we were on track to get our 200 Likes, but as of 8:52pm EST we have 181 Likes. Can I be impressed? Well, I am.

Not too many people are leaving comments so the pool of people to make the random choice from could be rather small. But the important thing is that  we get our Likes up there... and that we get to give away a free ad...

Even though the real fun has not even started with this ArtisTTable project. That will come when we have the opening of our first exhibition, Lets Get Acquainted!

So go give us a Like and leave a comment. You could get lucky and it will make our day.

Underway

Yesterday, Tuesday - January 15, 2013 the web site www.ArtisTTableOnline.com was ready enough to make public. The launch went off without a hitch. We held our first Google+ Hangout as the ArtisTTable, and we kicked off officially the ArtisTTable Facebook page which went from zero to 152 likes in one day. Facebook is a good way to keep in touch with what we have going on. http://www.facebook.com/ArtisTTableOnline

Right now our big push is to let everyone know about the Call for Entries for our first exhibition titled Lets Get Acquainted! Please, it is a call out to all artists, go to www.ArtisTTableOnline.com/lgaprospectus. Feel free to share this with all of your artistic friends.

Introducing

Introducing the Artist Table - An Online Community and Art Gallery

Visit www.artisttableonline.com

We will be posting all the information about Upcoming and Current Exhibitions that we are hosting. You will be able to be up to date on deadlines for our Calls for Entries. We will also repost major threads and topics discussed on the Artist Table Google+ Community.

The web site is still very much under construction, but we suspect it will be complete at least to a place that we can begin to occupy the space and start to conduct business.

Stay tuned and thanks for reading.
